Kurad

Kurad is a small village located in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh, India. The village lies near the foothills of the Vindhya Range and is part of the Kolar block. According to the 2011 Census of India, the population of Kurad was approximately 1,200 residents, with a nearly even gender balance and a literacy rate slightly below the district average.

The economy of Kurad is primarily agrarian, with wheat, rice, and pulses forming the staple crops. Many households also keep livestock such as cows, goats, and poultry for dairy and meat supply. Small-scale weaving and panchayat-level cooperative handloom activities contribute to the local income. The village is served by a primary health centre, a primary school, and a community hall that hosts festivals and meetings.

Transport connections are modest; a single arterial road links Kurad to the nearby town of Satna, and local bus services run a few times daily. The nearest railway station is in Satna, about 35 kilometres away.
