Kosketusperäisesti

Kosketusperäisesti is a Finnish adverb derived from the noun kosketusperä, meaning "touch-based" or "touch-controlled." It is used to describe interfaces, devices, or interactions that rely primarily on touch input rather than traditional input methods such as a keyboard or mouse. The term is most commonly found in technical documentation, product descriptions, and user interface guidelines within Finnish speaking technology contexts.

The concept first gained prominence with the advent of smartphones and tablet computers in the late 2000s, when manufacturers began to emphasize capacitive touchscreens as the primary means of user interaction. In Finnish corporate literature, products that feature multitouch gestures, haptic feedback, and direct manipulation are often labeled kosketusperäisesti to distinguish them from keyboard or controller–based experiences. This wording aligns with broader European terminology such as "touch‑based" and is frequently combined with other qualifiers, for instance kosketusperäiseksi suunniteltu (“designed to be touch‑based”).
