Konservaattorien, or conservators, are professionals who study, document, and treat cultural heritage objects to slow deterioration, stabilize damaged items, and preserve original material for study and display. They work in museums, archives, libraries, conservation studios, and research laboratories, often collaborating with curators, scientists, and educators. Their tasks range from condition assessments and treatment planning to cleaning, stabilization, inpainting, and preventive conservation, as well as environmental monitoring and documentation of all interventions.
