Kongedoms, also known as kingdoms, are a form of government characterized by a hereditary monarch, typically a king or queen, who serves as head of state. The monarch's position is usually for life or until abdication, and their authority can range from absolute to largely ceremonial, depending on the specific constitutional framework. Historically, kingdoms have been one of the most prevalent forms of political organization across various civilizations and throughout different eras.

The succession of the crown in a kingdom is generally determined by lineage, with the eldest child of the monarch or a designated relative inheriting the throne.
