Koaksiaalkaablit, also known as coaxial cables, are electrical cables with a central conductor surrounded by a tubular shield. The structure of a coaxial cable consists of four main components: the inner conductor, the dielectric material, the outer conductor, and the protective jacket. The inner conductor, typically made of copper, carries the electrical signal. Surrounding the inner conductor is a dielectric material, such as polyethylene, which insulates the inner conductor from the outer conductor. The outer conductor, usually a braided mesh of copper or aluminum, shields the inner conductor from external interference. The protective jacket, made of materials like PVC or Teflon, provides additional protection and insulation.

Coaxial cables are available in various types, including RG-6, RG-59, and RG-11, each designed for specific applications. RG-6, for example, is commonly used for cable television and satellite television, while RG-59 is often used in home networking and audio applications. RG-11, on the other hand, is used in high-frequency applications, such as microwave communications.

The advantages of coaxial cables include their ability to transmit high-frequency signals with minimal interference and loss, their durability, and their resistance to environmental factors. However, coaxial cables can be more expensive than other types of cables and are more difficult to install due to their rigid construction.
