The formation of Kellerrisse is typically influenced by several factors. Soil movement, particularly due to changes in moisture levels, freezing and thawing cycles, or shifting ground, can exert pressure on foundations, leading to cracks. Poor construction practices, such as inadequate reinforcement or improper drainage, may also contribute to their development.
