Isogeometrinen

Isogeometrinen is a term that can refer to a few different concepts, primarily in the fields of computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering simulation.

In the context of CAD, "isogeometric" refers to a method of representing and analyzing geometric models that integrates the design and analysis phases. Traditional CAD systems often use Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) to describe curves and surfaces. Isogeometric analysis (IGA) utilizes these same NURBS (or similar spline-based representations) to define the geometry of the computational domain for finite element analysis (FEA). This eliminates the need for mesh generation, a time-consuming and error-prone step in conventional FEA, and can lead to more accurate results, especially for complex geometries.

The core idea behind isogeometric methods is to use the same basis functions that define the geometry for approximating the solution of partial differential equations that govern physical phenomena.
