Imageiden

Imageiden is a proposed framework for assigning globally unique, persistent identifiers to digital images in order to support provenance, attribution, licensing, and rights management. The term blends “image” and “identification” and is used in discussions about image provenance and digital asset management.

Overview: The concept envisions a registry that maps each imageiden to metadata such as creator, title, creation date, rights holder, source file hash, and a provenance chain that records transformations or transfers.
