Hungaroring

The Hungaroring is a motorsport racing circuit located in Mogyoród, Hungary, approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Budapest. It was opened in 1986 and has been a permanent fixture on the Formula One calendar since then, making it one of the longest-serving venues on the current schedule. The circuit is known for its tight, twisty, and often dusty nature, which presents a significant challenge for drivers and makes overtaking difficult.

Designed by architect István Papp and engineer György Dallos, the Hungaroring features a relatively short lap length of 4.381 kilometers (2.722 miles). The circuit's layout, characterized by a series of slow and medium-speed corners, often leads to processions rather than close racing. However, this has also led to some memorable and unexpected race outcomes over the years, with strategy and driver skill playing a crucial role. The Hungarian Grand Prix, held annually at the Hungaroring, is typically one of the hottest races on the Formula One calendar due to its summer scheduling. The circuit also hosts other motorsport events throughout the year, including touring car championships and national racing series.
