HDACy
HDACy is a proposed member of the histone deacetylase (HDAC) family. In some genomic analyses it has been described as a potential enzyme that would remove acetyl groups from lysine residues on histones and other proteins, thereby contributing to chromatin condensation and transcriptional regulation. As a result, if real, HDACy could influence gene expression and chromatin dynamics in a manner similar to other HDACs.
Nomenclature and classification for HDACy reflect a predicted paralog within the HDAC family. It has not been
Evidence and status for HDACy are largely limited to in silico analyses and genomic or transcript data.
Potential roles for a confirmed HDACy would include participation in chromatin remodeling and gene regulation, possibly
Research and citation: As of now, there is insufficient evidence to confirm HDACy as a functional histone
