Geçii

Geçii is a coastal municipality on the eastern shore of the Solara archipelago, in the fictional continent of Ostara. The name is derived from the Geçian language and is commonly translated as "harbor entrance." As of the latest census, the municipality has about 44,000 residents. Geçii is governed by a mayor and a 15-member city council, with administrative responsibilities covering the urban core and surrounding rural areas.

Geography and climate: The city occupies a sheltered bay with granite hills to the north and fertile valleys inland. The climate is temperate, with warm, dry summers and mild winters influenced by maritime air masses.

Economy: The economy combines commercial fishing, fish processing, tourism, and light manufacturing. In recent decades, Geçii has pursued renewable energy projects, including small-scale wind farms and solar installations off the northern hills, and it hosts a regional logistics hub at the harbor.

History: Geçii originated as a medieval trading post in the 12th century and grew through maritime commerce. It experienced significant seismic events in the 15th century and was subsequently rebuilt. The 19th and 20th centuries brought modernization and expansion of services, with incorporation into the Ostaran regional federation in the late 20th century.

Culture and education: The Old Town retains centuries-old stone streets and buildings. Geçii University offers programs in marine science, engineering, and environmental studies. The annual Maritime Festival highlights local crafts, music, and cuisine.

Transport: The city is served by a seaport, a regional rail line, and an integrated bus network. A small airstrip provides regional connections.
