Forgókapcsolós is a Hungarian term that translates to "rotary switch" in English. It refers to a type of electrical switch that operates by rotating a knob or lever to connect or disconnect different circuits. These switches are commonly found in various electronic devices and appliances where multiple functions or settings need to be selected.

The mechanism of a forgókapcsolós typically involves a rotor with conductive contacts that align with stationary contacts on a stator as the knob is turned. Each position of the rotor corresponds to a specific circuit configuration. For example, in a fan, a rotary switch might control speed settings (low, medium, high) or fan modes (on, off, timer).
