Fordonsstandard

Fordonsstandard is a term used in Swedish to describe the set of technical and safety requirements that vehicles must meet to be manufactured, sold, registered and operated in Sweden and the European Union. It covers the rules and criteria that determine whether a vehicle type is approved for market access and how the vehicle must continue to comply during production and after it is in use. The concept encompasses safety, environmental and interoperability aspects, and is closely tied to the processes of homologation and conformity of production.

Manufacturers perform conformity assessments and obtain type approvals before market entry, while ongoing conformity of production and post-market surveillance ensure continued adherence.
