Fertiliness is a term used to describe the capacity or state of being fertile, particularly in the context of reproduction for organisms. It refers to the biological ability of an individual, couple, or species to conceive or produce offspring. For humans, fertiliness is influenced by a complex interplay of genetic, hormonal, lifestyle, and environmental factors.

In females, fertiliness is typically associated with the regular production of viable eggs and a healthy reproductive system capable of supporting a pregnancy. This includes the function of ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, and the hormonal balance that regulates the menstrual cycle. Male fertiliness is dependent on the production of sufficient numbers of healthy, motile sperm and the ability to deliver them effectively.
