Esteestan

Esteestan is a landlocked parliamentary republic located in the central highlands of the continent of Oria. It is bordered by the Voskan Mountains to the north, the Serin River valley to the south, and the Ardent Plains to the west and southeast. The capital and largest city is Velmar. The official language is Estian, with Serali and Tuln recognized as minority languages. As of the latest estimates, Esteestan has a population of about 7.8 million.

Esteestan's early settlements flourished on the Serin plains, and it later formed regional confederations under the Kharan Empire. The modern state emerged after peaceful decolonization, with independence in 1952 and a 1953 constitution establishing a parliamentary system and basic civil rights.

Esteestan elects a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The unicameral National Assembly has 220 seats, elected every four years through proportional representation. The president serves a largely ceremonial role, while the prime minister and cabinet oversee day-to-day governance. The judiciary is independent, with a constitutional court and regional courts.

Esteestan has a diversified economy dominated by services, manufacturing, and agriculture. Textiles, timber, and machinery constitute major export sectors, while hydroelectric power from the Serin River supports industry and residential consumption. The government maintains a social welfare system and a relatively low unemployment rate. The currency is the Este, and the country participates in regional trade agreements to promote export markets.

Esteestani society is ethnically diverse, with the Esteetan majority and Serali, Tuln, and migrant communities contributing to a plural culture. Education is broadly accessible, and literacy is high. Cultural life centers on music, crafts, and regional festivals such as the Harvest Festival and the Spring Market. National cuisine blends grains, dairy products, stews, and seasonal vegetables.
