EnterpriseArch is a framework for enterprise information technology architecture and governance designed to help large organizations align business strategy with technology capabilities. Developed as a vendor-neutral, open standard, it provides a common language, reference architectures, and processes for planning, designing, and operating complex IT landscapes.

Its design centers on four architectural layers—business, information, applications, and technology—with security and risk management spanning all domains. The framework promotes capability-based planning, value-stream thinking, and service-oriented design, emphasizing reuse, interoperability, and scalable integration across on-premises and cloud environments.

Key artifacts include capability maps, value-stream models, reference architectures, pattern catalogs, and an architecture repository. The modelling vocabulary supports Archimate- or BPMN-like models and can be integrated with UML. EnterpriseArch traces its roots to a 2010s industry consortium that published the first public specification. Major milestones cover version 3.x in the late 2010s and version 4.x in the early 2020s, with ongoing updates and a community edition alongside a commercially supported enterprise edition. The ecosystem includes tooling integrations for cloud platforms, APIs, data platforms, and DevOps pipelines.

Adoption spans financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, and public sector organizations seeking to reduce duplication, accelerate integration of acquisitions, and improve governance. Critics note that the framework can be complex to implement and requires sustained governance, training, and tool investments; successful use typically relies on trained architecture teams and executive sponsorship.
