The core principle involves converting electrical commands into hydraulic fluid flow and pressure.

A typical EH system comprises several key components. These include sensors that measure system parameters like pressure, position, or speed, a controller (often a microcontroller or PLC) that processes input signals and generates output commands, and an electro-hydraulic actuator.
