Thorne, a renowned specialist in ancient and dead languages, developed Eilatinankiel as an attempt to revive certain grammatical structures and phonetic qualities he believed were lost to the development of modern languages. The language is not intended for widespread use but rather as an academic experiment and a tool for Thorne's personal research.
