ComputerToPlate

Computertoplate is a modular, plate-based computing platform designed to scale from small edge deployments to data-center clusters. It treats each physical plate as a self-contained compute node and provides a software stack that pools resources across many plates to form a single, coherent system. The concept emphasizes hot-swappability, low-latency interconnects, and energy-efficient operation.

Hardware architecture centers on flat, swappable plates that include CPU, memory, storage, network interfaces, and IO expansion. Plates connect over a standardized high-speed interconnect to form a plate fabric. A chassis or rack houses multiple plates and provides power, cooling, and management connectivity. The system supports mixed plate generations and profiles to balance performance and power.

The software stack runs directly on the plates and offers a centralized plate management layer. A plate-aware scheduler allocates workloads based on real-time utilization, locality, fault domains, and policy. The stack includes a container runtime and an orchestration layer tailored to plate topology, plus a plate map that tracks resource availability and topology. Management tools provide command-line, API, and graphical interfaces for deployment, monitoring, and upgrades. Security features include hardware-rooted trust, encrypted inter-plate traffic, and role-based access control.
