Coastland
Coastland, or coastal land, is the strip of terrain that lies along a coastline, from where land processes and sea processes interact to influence landforms. The extent inland varies with geology, climate, and land use, ranging from a few meters in active cliffed coasts to tens of kilometers in low-lying deltas and dune systems. Coastlands include features such as beaches, dunes, cliffs, estuaries, deltas, mangroves, salt marshes, and lagoons, and they often contain a transition zone where terrestrial and marine ecosystems mix.
Coastlands are shaped by wave action, tides, currents, sediment supply, and sea-level changes. Erosion and deposition
