Changpeng

Changpeng Zhao, commonly known as CZ, (born 1977) is a Chinese-Canadian programmer and entrepreneur who founded Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume, and serves as its chief executive officer.

Zhao was born in Jiangsu, China, and moved to Canada with his family as a child. He studied computer science at McGill University in Montreal.

After college, Zhao worked for Fusion Systems, a company building high-frequency trading software for futures markets. He later worked for Bloomberg's Tradebook in Tokyo as a developer.

In 2017, Zhao co-founded Binance with Yi He and became its CEO. Binance rapidly expanded, launching the Binance Exchange, its own digital asset BNB, and related services, including a blockchain ecosystem.

Binance's growth has been accompanied by regulatory scrutiny in several countries; Zhao has spoken about working with regulators and adapting to evolving rules as the company expands its international footprint.

He is private about his personal life and maintains a relatively low public profile compared with some peers in the industry.
