Cementtyper is a term used in civil engineering and architectural technology to describe a class of automated devices that deposit cementitious material under digital control to form structures, joints, or components. It is not a single standardized machine; rather, it denotes a concept that encompasses extrusion-based, cartridge-based, and pump-and-nozzle systems designed to lay down material along prescribed paths, often directly from a CAD or BIM model.

Typical cementtypers integrate a dosing and mixing subsystem to maintain workability, a flow control mechanism to regulate extrusion, sensors for pressure and temperature, and a computer interface for process planning. The devices translate digital deposition instructions into material events, enabling layer-by-layer construction, patterning, or targeted injection into cavities. They may be used with cementitious mixes that incorporate superplasticizers, fibers, or lightweight aggregates to tailor rheology and strength.

Applications are most common in research settings and experimental construction, including 3D concrete printing, robotic masonry, formwork-free architecture, and grouting of complex geometries. In practice, cementtyper-like functionality is provided by concrete 3D printers and robotic extruders rather than under a distinct standard called cementtyper. Limitations include material variability, curing dynamics, structural code conformity, environmental conditions, and operational safety. The term remains largely descriptive in design discourse rather than a defined product category.
