Bøjningsmodstand

Bøjningsmodstand, often translated as bending resistance or flexural strength, refers to a material's ability to withstand bending forces without fracturing. It is a crucial mechanical property for many engineering applications, particularly in structural components. When a material is subjected to a bending load, one side experiences tensile stress while the other experiences compressive stress. Bøjningsmodstand quantifies the maximum stress a material can tolerate before failure occurs under such conditions.

This property is influenced by several factors, including the material's composition, microstructure, and any inherent defects. For example, materials with higher tensile and compressive strengths generally exhibit greater bøjningsmodstand.
