Brancheeksempler, also known as the branch-eating monkey or *Presbytis melalophos*, is a species of leaf monkey native to the forests of Southeast Asia. This arboreal primate belongs to the family Cercopithecidae and is primarily found in Indonesia, particularly on the islands of Sumatra and Java. It is a medium-sized monkey, typically weighing between 4 to 7 kilograms, with a distinctive reddish-brown coat that fades to grayish-brown on the limbs and tail.

Brancheeksempler are diurnal, meaning they are active during the day, and spend most of their time in the canopy of trees. Their diet consists mainly of leaves, fruits, flowers, and occasionally insects, though they are not strictly herbivorous. The name "brancheeks" derives from their habit of eating the bark and branches of certain trees, which is unusual among primates. This behavior may help them obtain nutrients not found in leaves alone.

These monkeys live in social groups called troops, which can range from 5 to 20 individuals, often led by a dominant male.
