Bipolaridad

Bipolaridad, also known as bipolar disorder, is a mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). These mood episodes can vary in intensity and duration. During a manic episode, individuals may experience feelings of euphoria, increased energy, decreased need for sleep, racing thoughts, and impulsive behavior. Hypomanic episodes are similar but less severe. Depressive episodes involve feelings of sadness, hopelessness, loss of interest in activities, fatigue, and changes in appetite or sleep patterns.

Lifestyle management, including maintaining a regular sleep schedule, avoiding alcohol and drugs, and stress reduction techniques, also plays a significant role in managing symptoms.
