Bane

Bane is a fictional character in the DC Comics universe and one of Batman’s most formidable adversaries. Created by Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench, and Graham Nolan, he first appeared in Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1 in 1993. In the comics, Bane is a physically imposing villain who was born in the Caribbean country of Santa Prisca and raised in the brutal Pena Dura prison. There, he develops exceptional intellect and physical conditioning, aided by the drug Venom, which temporarily enhances his strength.

Bane’s most famous storyline is Knightfall (1993–1994), in which he wears Batman down through a long campaign

logistics

him
a
persistent,
multi-faceted
threat
to
Gotham.

Rises

portrays
a
masked
mercenary
leader
who
leads
an
insurgency
against
Gotham,
with
a
different
backstory
and
without
the
comic-book
Venom
serum.
In
older
film
adaptations
and
various
animated
works,
Bane
is
often
depicted
as
a
largely
muscle-bound
enforcer
or
strategic
rival
to
Batman.
