Aurelian
Aurelian, fully Lucius Domitius Aurelianus, was a Roman emperor who ruled from 270 to 275 CE. A career soldier, he rose through the ranks during the Crisis of the Third Century and became emperor after the death of Claudius Gothicus. His accession occurred amid political fragmentation and external threats to the Roman state.
During his reign, Aurelian defeated the Gallic Empire in the West and the Palmyrene Empire in the
Aurelian also undertook major frontier projects, most notably the construction of the Aurelian Walls around Rome,
