Ülevaatlikkus is the quality of information presentation that enables an audience to grasp the main ideas and structure of a text, presentation, or system at a glance. It emphasizes clarity, logical organization, and the ability to provide an overview without sacrificing essential detail. The term is used in Estonian discourse on writing, public communication, education, and information design.

Etymology: The word combines the concept of overview (ülevaade) with the suffix -likkus that forms abstract nouns, yielding roughly “the property of offering an overview.”

Characteristics include a clear overall structure, consistent terminology, explicit signposting (headings, summaries, and transitions), readable visual hierarchy (typography, spacing, and color used to guide attention), and avoidance of unnecessary complexity or redundancy. In practice, ülevaatlikkus appears in text composition, layout design, and user interfaces where readers must navigate content efficiently.
