Vasms, short for Very Advanced Microprocessor System, refers to a hypothetical or conceptual computer architecture designed to overcome the limitations of current processor designs. The concept typically involves a highly integrated system on a chip (SoC) that goes beyond standard CPU, GPU, and memory configurations. Key features often associated with vasms include a significantly larger number of processing cores, potentially a few thousand, each optimized for specific types of tasks. These cores might include specialized units for artificial intelligence, advanced signal processing, and complex simulations, alongside general-purpose computing units.

Another defining characteristic of vasms is their approach to memory. Instead of a hierarchical cache system, vasms might employ a unified, massively parallel memory architecture where all cores have direct, high-bandwidth access to a vast pool of memory. This eliminates bottlenecks associated with data transfer between different levels of cache and main memory.
