Valgekeerulises is a species of butterfly belonging to the family Lycaenidae, commonly known as the blues, coppers, and hairstreaks. The scientific name of this species is *Polyommatus valgekeerulises*. It is primarily found in parts of Eastern and Central Europe, including regions of Estonia, Latvia, and Russia. The species is notable for its distinct wing coloration and patterns, which contribute to its identification and classification.

The adult butterfly typically has a wingspan ranging from 30 to 40 millimeters. The forewings are predominantly bright blue with a subtle sheen, while the hindwings are often lighter, adorned with small, dark spots and a fine border. Females usually display a more subdued coloration with brown hues mixed with blue tones. The underside of both wings features a complex pattern of gray, white, and brown markings that provide camouflage against predators.

Valgekeerulises prefers open habitats such as grasslands, meadows, and steppe regions, where its larval host plants, mainly various species of wild lupines and clovers, are abundant. The species undergoes complete metamorphosis, with eggs laid on host plants, followed by larval, pupal, and adult stages. The larvae are often attended by ants, which provide protection in exchange for secretions produced by the caterpillars, a mutualistic relationship common among Lycaenid butterflies.

Despite its localized presence, Valgekeerulises is not currently listed as threatened; however, habitat loss and agricultural intensification pose ongoing risks to its populations. Conservation efforts emphasize the preservation of native grassland ecosystems and host plant availability to support the species' survival.
