tessellataMany
TessellataMany is a genus of terrestrial arthropods within the family Lycosidae, commonly known as wolf‑spiders. The genus was first described in 2018 by Australian arachnologist Jane B. Moore based on specimens collected from the Nullarbor Plain in southern Australia. The name TessellataMany reflects the characteristic tessellated pattern of dark and light bands that cover the dorsal surface of the cephalothorax in many of the species, along with the multiple species (hence “Many”) that have been identified within the genus.
The genus contains twelve species, all endemic to arid and semi‑arid habitats characterised by sandy soils
Ecologically, TessellataMany species are diurnal hunters that rely on tactile and visual cues to locate prey,
Conservation status varies among the species. Several of the smaller, more restricted species (such as TessellataMany
