Sähkökiillotus, also known as electro polishing or electrochemical polishing, is a surface finishing process used to smooth, polish, and deburr metal parts. It is an electrochemical process where the workpiece is made the anode in an electrolytic cell. The electrolyte, typically a mixture of acids, dissolves the high points of the metal surface more rapidly than the low points, resulting in a smooth, lustrous finish.

The process begins by immersing the metal part in a heated electrolyte solution. An electric current is then applied, with the workpiece acting as the anode and the cathode made of an inert material.
