Suurisolukasinooma, also known as giant cell carcinoma, is a rare histological subtype of carcinoma characterized by the presence of large, multinucleated tumor cells. These cells are typically much larger than those seen in other types of cancer and often contain multiple nuclei. The term "suurisolukasinooma" itself is a direct translation from Finnish, where "suuri" means large, "solu" means cell, and "kasinooma" means carcinoma.

This type of tumor can arise in various organs, but it is most commonly found in the lung. Other reported sites include the pancreas, liver, and breast, although these are much less frequent. The clinical presentation of suurisolukasinooma is generally similar to that of other carcinomas of the affected organ, with symptoms depending on the location and stage of the tumor.

Histologically, the defining feature is the presence of these prominent giant cells, which can comprise a significant portion of the tumor.
