Suorituskaarta is related to but distinct from opintosuoritusote (academic transcript). The transcript records actual completed work; the suorituskaarta emphasizes planning and mapping toward degree requirements and learning outcomes. It may be integrated with curriculum maps and degree plans.

Variations and terminology

Not all institutions use the term, and some refer to similar concepts as opintosuunnitelma, curriculummap, or oppimissuunnitelma.
