Squaliomorpha is a subclade of sharks within the paraphyletic group Selachimorpha, also known as ground sharks. The term was introduced by Carvajal and Ebert in 2015. Research has revealed that it is a distinct clade that encompasses a range of distinct shark species often traditionally grouped under the suborder Carcharhiniformes. It contains the majority of species once regarded as catsharks (Scyliorhinidae and Dalatiidae).
