Carcharhiniformes is an order of elasmobranch fish, commonly known as requiem sharks, which includes the great white shark, tiger shark, and many other species. This order is characterized by their streamlined bodies, large pectoral fins that are not attached to the head, and five to seven gill slits. Carcharhiniformes are found in all oceans, from tropical to temperate waters, and some species can tolerate a wide range of salinities, including brackish water.
