seuroja
Seuroja are voluntary, member-based organizations in Finland formed to pursue common interests. The term derives from seura, meaning club or association, and the plural seuroja. They exist across sectors such as sports, culture, arts, youth work, and hobby groups. Most seurat operate as non-profit associations (yhdistys) and can be registered as a legal entity or function informally without legal personality. Registered associations gain the ability to own property, enter contracts, and sue or be sued in their own name.
