The price is determined by supply and demand in the market. Generators submit offers to sell electricity by hour, while consumers and cross-border exchanges indicate demand. The market clears at the price where total offered supply matches demand, taking into account grid constraints and interconnections. Factors that influence the råspotpris include hydrological conditions (affecting hydro output), wind and solar generation, fuel prices, carbon prices, and transmission bottlenecks.
