Design and features. Traditional bowls range from plain to highly decorative, with silver or silver-plated, porcelain, or glass constructions. Glass and crystal bowls may be cut or pressed with decorative patterns. Some designs incorporate an ice well or an accompanying ice bucket to chill the punch without diluting it.
