The processejer works closely with other roles in process management, such as process managers who handle day-to-day execution, process sponsors who provide strategic support, and process analysts or architects who model and design the process. This role requires cross-functional collaboration and authority to approve changes that affect the process.

Lifecycle and methods commonly associated with the processejer include design and approval, implementation, operation, measurement, and ongoing optimization. Performance data and dashboards are used to evaluate success and identify opportunities for improvement. The concept is widely used in business process management and governance frameworks, including in Danish-speaking organizations where the term originated.
