Procesoro is the Esperanto term for a processor, the electronic component responsible for executing the instructions of computer programs. The processor fetches instructions from memory, decodes them, and executes operations using the arithmetic logic unit (ALU) and a control unit. Power consumption and thermal design also influence practical performance and reliability.

Variants of processing devices include CPUs for personal computers and servers, microcontrollers for embedded systems, digital signal processors for multimedia tasks, and graphics processing units acting as highly parallel processors. The concept of the procesoro has evolved from simple fixed-function devices to highly capable, multi-core, energy-efficient units that form the core of modern computing systems.
