Pleksetting, or table setting, is the deliberate arrangement of dishware, flatware, glassware, and napery on a dining table, together with the placement of guests. It serves practical purposes for service and dining flow, and it reflects formality, customs, and the occasion.

A typical setting includes a central plate or charger, with additional serviceware organized to support the planned menu. Left of the plate are the forks, right are the knives and spoons, arranged in the order they will be used. A bread plate may sit upper left with a small knife. Glassware is placed above the plate, often with a water glass closest to the plate and wine glasses arranged to the right in order of use. The napkin is usually folded and placed on the plate, beneath the plate, or to the left of the forks, depending on formality. In formal settings, there may be more items and stricter sequencing to align with courses and service timing.

Seating arrangements can be as simple as individual place settings or involve a formal seating plan with assigned seats. Etiquette and cultural norms influence the number of courses, serving order, and the position of guests, including head-of-table designation and considerations for accessibility and comfort.
