Pinecovered is an adjective used to describe landscapes or ecosystems in which pine trees form the dominant vegetation cover. It is commonly applied to forests where species of the genus Pinus constitute the principal canopy and shape the ecosystem's structure and processes. The term is descriptive rather than taxonomic, and can refer to pure stands or mixed forests with a majority of pine.

Pine-dominated systems occur across temperate and boreal regions, including North America, Europe, and parts of Asia. Commonly encountered species include loblolly and slash pine in the southeastern United States; ponderosa and lodgepole pine in western North America; Scots pine in Europe; and species such as Pinus koraiensis and Pinus densiflora in Asia. These forests typically feature evergreen needles, resin-rich tissues, and thick bark in some species, adaptations that influence fire regimes, nutrient cycling, and drought tolerance.

Ecologically, pinecovered areas provide habitat for a wide range of wildlife and often serve as important carbon sinks. They vary from open savanna-like stands to dense, multilayered forests. Fire can be a natural driver, with some pines regenerating best after intervals of burning, while others are adapted to survive or recover quickly after fires. Soil types are diverse but often well-drained, with pines tolerating acidic conditions.

Human use and management: pine forests supply timber, resin, and non-timber products; they are managed with sustainable forestry practices, reforestation, and sometimes controlled burns to reduce fire risk. Threats include pests such as bark beetles, disease, drought, and land-use change.
