Paberprototüüpideks, commonly referred to as paper prototyping, is a low-fidelity method for rapidly creating visual representations of user interfaces or product designs. This technique involves sketching out screens, workflows, and interactions on paper, allowing designers and stakeholders to quickly iterate on ideas and gather feedback early in the design process. The primary advantage of paper prototyping lies in its simplicity and speed. It requires minimal technical expertise and can be done with readily available materials like paper and pens.

The process typically involves drawing individual screens of an interface, often on separate sheets of paper or index cards. These screens are then arranged to simulate user flows. One person acts as the "computer," manually changing screens based on the user's "actions" as described by another person acting as the user. This interactive element allows for testing of navigation, information architecture, and basic functionality without the need for complex software or coding.

Paper prototypes are excellent for exploring different design concepts, identifying usability issues, and facilitating communication among team members and with clients. Because they are so easy to create and modify, they encourage a less precious approach to design, making it more comfortable to discard ideas that don't work.
