Onkruidbarrière, also known as weed barrier or landscape fabric, is a material used in gardening and landscaping to suppress weed growth. It is typically a permeable fabric that allows water, air, and nutrients to pass through to the soil while blocking sunlight. This lack of light prevents weed seeds from germinating and growing.

Onkruidbarrières are commonly made from synthetic materials like polypropylene or polyester, though natural fiber options also exist. They are laid directly on the soil and can be covered with mulch, gravel, or other decorative elements to improve aesthetics and further protect the barrier.
