Multirollers are mechanical assemblies that use multiple cylindrical rollers arranged in a line, array, or grid to support and guide a moving load. The term is used in engineering literature and in product naming to describe systems where several rollers share contact with a moving element, distributing pressure and expanding contact area compared with single-roller configurations. This arrangement can improve load capacity, stiffness, and motion smoothness, especially under higher speeds or heavier weights.

In typical multiroller configurations, rollers are mounted on a fixed frame and interact with a moving carriage, plate, or belt. The rollers rotate as the load travels, or the load moves along stationary rollers. Variants include linear roller guides with fixed rollers and a sliding carriage, cylindrical roller blocks with adjustable preload, and segmented or curved roller arrays designed to accommodate non-straight tracks. Some designs integrate separate bearing elements or housings to control lubrication and preload.

Advantages of multirollers include higher load distribution, reduced peak stress on any single contact point, improved rigidity and deflection resistance, and potential redundancy. Disadvantages can include greater complexity, higher cost, more intricate maintenance, and stricter alignment requirements to preserve smooth operation.

Applications span manufacturing and automation equipment, precision stages for tooling and metrology, conveyor and handling systems, printing and packaging machinery, and stage or theatre rigging where stable, high-load motion is required.
