However, this range can vary, with some mezzosopráning extending slightly higher or lower.

Mezzosoprán voices are often categorized into two main types: lyric mezzosoprán and coloratura mezzosoprán. Lyric mezzosopráning typically possess a warmer, softer tone and are suited for more lyrical and expressive roles. Coloratura mezzosopráning, on the other hand, have a lighter, more agile voice capable of executing rapid runs, trills, and ornamentation. In opera and choral music, mezzosopráning often portray a variety of characters, including maternal figures, seductive women, witches, or young boys.
