A mønsterkart typically presents a grid or chart where each unit corresponds to a stitch, weave, print element, or embroidery area. Symbols, colors, or shading indicate techniques, yarn colors, or material types. Important elements include the size of the repeat, the orientation of the motif, edge marks for alignment, and any colorways or palette information. The map may also include notes on finishing, tension, or fabric handling.
