Ball screws, on the other hand, utilize a recirculating ball bearing system between the screw and nut. This significantly reduces friction, allowing for higher efficiency, smoother operation, and greater load-carrying capacity compared to trapezoidal screws. Ball screws are often employed in precision machinery, CNC machines, robotics, and aerospace applications where accuracy and minimal backlash are critical.
