Laitteistoinen, or hardware in Finnish, refers to the physical components of a computer or electronic device that can be touched and interacted with directly. Unlike software, which consists of programs and data stored electronically, hardware encompasses all the tangible parts that make up a computing system. These components work together to process, store, and transmit information, enabling the functionality of modern technology.

Key hardware components include the central processing unit (CPU), which performs most of the processing inside a computer; the motherboard, which connects and coordinates the flow of data between components; and memory units such as RAM, which temporarily stores data for quick access.
